The erstwhile Commissioner of Police in Osun State Command, Olawale Olokode, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, had his rank changed to a higher one as he was decorated as an Assistant Inspector General of Police.
The ceremony took place at Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Born in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, AIG Olokode enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in March, 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).
Before he got to the exalted position in the police force, AIG Olokode had served in various capacities in several states across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
He was once Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations and Area Commander, Oyo, in Oyo State Police Command.
He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Ogun State and later Commissioner of Police, Border Patrol, after he got promoted as CP.
Olokode was transferred to Osun State Police Command as the Commissioner in December 2020.
He holds a B. Sc degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan, and M.Sc in Peace & Conflict Resolutions Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
He is happily married to his wife, Oluyemisi Motunrayo, and blessed with children.
AIG Olokode has been posted immediately to Bauchi State to be in charge of Zone 12.
