The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, Moyo Onigbanjo, SAN, will be leading the prosecution of ASP Drambi Vandi, the police officer who shot dead a female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem on Christmas Day.
This was disclosed on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the deceased’s family residence in Ajah when Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu sent a delegation to visit and condole with the family on the sudden and unnatural death of their loved one.
In a statement by the Honourable Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, it was said that the governor had reinforced his stand on justice for Bolanle Raheem’s family.
“We have the permission of Mr Governor to tell you that justice will be done in this matter. The matter will be charged to court as soon as the police send us the case file. I will be leading the prosecution to show the seriousness the government attaches to this matter,” the Commissioner for Justice said.
Also speaking on behalf of the governor, Special Adviser, Tubosun Alake said that Sanwo-Olu urged the family to take heart and prayed that God would comfort the family.
Responding, the widower, Mr Gbenga Raheem, thanked Mr Sanwo-Olu for his empathy.
In the delegation were the Head of Service, Muri Okunola, who signed the condolence register on behalf of the government; Women and Poverty Alleviation Commissioner, Mrs Bolaji Dada and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
