A community leader and chairman of Oluwalose community in Okolowo, Ilorin, Alhaji Tunde Buhari, has been rescued by operatives in Kwara State Police Command.
The community leader was one of the two victims earlier kidnapped.
The police image maker in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, who made this known on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, said that efforts of officers and men of the command, in collaboration with other security stakeholders, resulted in the rescue.
The PPRO said that the victim had been handed over to the family for a comprehensive medical examination.
According to the spokesman, “this information becomes necessary to calm the nerves of the families and friends of the victims, and to also assure that the police in the command have the capacity to get the remaining victim rescued unharmed, and that the process is in top gear.”
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, has assured the good people of Kwara State of their safety at all times.
The police commissioner advised members of the public to pay more attention to their personal security and be more conscious of their environment.
