The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Monday, February 20, 2023, decorated three newly promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police in his office at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The decoration followed the recently released promotions by the Police Service Commission, in which the three officers’ recommendation by the IGP was approved.

The DIGs are Ali Aji Janga, in charge of the Department of Research and Planning; Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, in charge of the Department of Training and Development; and Adeleke Yinka Bode, in charge of the Department of Operations.

He is a member of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Jos.

DIG Adeleke Bode was the immediate past Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos comprising Lagos and Ogun States. He has served as the AIG in charge of the Zone 9 Police Command comprising, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi States. He had earlier served as the Commissioner of Police in Delta State and Kebbi state. DIG Adeleke is a graduate of Law from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State. He also holds a degree in Education from Lagos State University (LASU).

In another development, in line with his mandate to ensure professional training as a key to the manpower development of the Force, the IGP has declared open a one-day seminar to provide requisite skills for the management of electoral violence for Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Operations across the Zonal and State Police Commands nationwide, and their counterparts in other security agencies at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Inspector-General of Police charged the senior officers to work hard in entrenching compliance with the police reform agenda of the President.
