Six suspected armed robbers belonging to two different gangs and notorious for dispossessing unsuspecting victims of their valuables within Ajegunle and Alaba-Rago areas have been arrested by detectives of the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspects included Chukwuemeka Emmanuel (21), Chukwuebuka Innocent (24), Umaru Isah (21), Emmanuel Ita (19), Olaitan Ayinde (18) and Moshood Ayinde (25).
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Saturday, March 4, said that the suspects were arrested at different areas of the state after investigations on the reports of activities of the robbers in the areas.
Recovered from them were an unregistered TVS motorcycle, a locally-made gun, an Infinix Note 7 and one iPhone 7.
The PPRO stated that the suspects would be arraigned at the end of investigation, while efforts were being intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the gangs and recover other weapons.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, charged Lagosians to promptly alert the police on suspicious happenings in their localities, to further enable the police rid the state of crime and criminality.
