Commissioner of Police, Tunji Rilwan Disu, who has been the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has been posted to Rivers State Police Command as the head.
The IGP also ordered the posting and redeployment of 39 other senior police officers comprising 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 25 other Commissioners of Police to various commands and formations in Nigeria.
The Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the IGP’s order in a statement on Thursday, November 9, 2023, described the directive as part of mandate of the Nigeria Police Force to have a professionally competent, service driven, rule of law compliant, and people friendly workforce.
It is also to reflect the new status of senior officers who were just recently elevated to their next ranks, the FPRO said.

Saying that the postings are with immediate effect, the Inspector General of Police charged the newly posted/redeployed officers to work in tandem with the Force policy and support the agenda of government for economic recovery and growth as well as socio-political development of the country.
He also stressed the importance of entrenching professionalism and diligent policing services to all officers and men under their command.
The IGP thereby called on them to partner with all relevant stakeholders to bring policing closer to the people.
