Operatives of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, Wednesday , April 3, successfully apprehended a 24-year-old man for theft.
According to a press statement issued by the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the suspect, who gave his name as Ezekiel Victor Thankgod, was apprehended by the patrol team of the Corps at about 3:00am.
Thankgod, a resident of Tokis Street, Behind Covenant Store, Ojuore, was caught vandalizing and stealing a Royal Air Conditioner (Model: R410 Outdoor) from Covenant Stores, Oju-Ore, in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.
Commander Ganzallo disclosed that during preliminary investigation conducted by Iyesi Area Commander of the Corps, Samuel Yusuf, it was revealed that the suspect had been arrested for similar offences in the past.
He was said to have had a history of stealing money and phones, and was released from a correctional centre in January.
When interrogated, ThankGod confessed to the crime and disclosed that he used to reside anywhere he found a space, mentioning his association with Oloko Community in Ota.
Furthermore, Commander Ganzallo disclosed that various items, including charms, a local instrument used for drug paraphernalia, a lighter, a local ring and cowries, were found on the suspect.
The Commander added that the suspect and the exhibits recovered from him had been handed over to the Onipanu Division in Ogun State Police Command for further investigation.
