Sequel to the simmering public altercations over the boundary dispute between Osun and Oyo communities, the Oyo State government has counselled both sides to stop the back-and-forth blame game and allow the two governments to continue mature discussions on the solution to it.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said that the media usually feed on such matters coming from unending hostile public statements.
He noted however that such statements were injurious and distracting to what the governors of the two states were doing.
The Commissioner said that the two governments believed that the protracted land dispute was not intractable, and traditional Institutions should not be a clog in the wheel of peaceful resolution.
According to him, Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke were cooperating fully with the National Boundary Commission through their representatives, with the belief that an amicable solution would be arrived at soon.
