•As Makinde donates bus to Bodija Int’l Market leaders
The Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has said that the state government will soon begin the rehabilitation of inner roads at Bodija Market.
The governor, who was represented by Chief Babatunde Tijani, stated this while donating an 18-seater bus to the Ibadan Foodstuffs Sellers Association, Bodija International Market, Ibadan.
He noted that the bus is to ease the movement of the executive members of the union within and outside the state, adding that the donation was part of the governor’s promises to support market groups in the state.
Tijani equally noted that the gesture also confirmed the robust relationship between his government and market leaders, urging them to continue to support the administration.
This was just as he called for more unity and cooperation among the market groups and associations in the state.
In his response, the Babaloja, Bodija International Market, Chief Ismael Aderemi Jimoh, expressed gratitude to the governor for the donation, promising the association’s unflinching support to his administration.
The event had in attendance the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazim Adeniyi; members representing Ibadan North I and II State Constituencies, Hon. Comforter Olajide and Hon. Gabriel Babajide; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs Toyin Balogun and the Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, Mr Seun Olufade.
Others were the chairman, Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, Rt Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan (Akoro) and the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekini Abass, among other dignitaries.
