The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) has expressed happiness at the way members of the Board of interviewers in Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, have been working together as a family to achieve his dream about the institution.
The PSC chairman stated this on Friday, October 10 2025, while addressing the Board during his visit to the POLAC to get first hand information on the on-going screening of candidates for admission into the Academy.
DIG Argungu also commended the Commandant, AIG Patrick Atayero, saying that he was excited with the prevailing sense of unity and cooperation among the stakeholders towards the exercise.
The PSC Chairman, who attended the Police Council Meeting in Abuja, said he was also in the Academy to ensure the exercise is free of bottlenecks and conducted in line with global best practices.
He advised that the management of the Academy should deliberately expose themselves to the workings of other Academies across the globe.
He said the Commission will continue to work to ensure the Academy is properly positioned to give its best and ranked amongst the best globally.
He also charged the Commandant to continue to maintain the existing unity and work to ensure there is no friction within the team.
In his welcoming remarks, the Commandant briefed the PSC Chairman on the cordial relationship that has existed since the commencement of the screening exercise.
The exercise continues on Saturday, October 11.
