The Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED) has appealed to residents affected by the circular road demolition to cooperate with the ongoing development efforts.
This is coming on the heels of the ongoing protest against the 500-metre circular Road Corridor.
According to a statement issued by the Director General of the Agency, Dr Morohunkola Thomas, the circular road is a major infrastructure project which aims to ease traffic congestion, open new opportunities, improve transportation and enhance the overall quality of life of people across the state.
Dr Thomas, who said that the state government also feels the pains of thise affected by the demolition, however noted that there would not be development without sacrifices, as major decisions would need to be taken.
He appealed to the protesters to sheathe their swords, see beyond the day and embrace the development which the government is bringing to the state.
He assured that the long term socio-economic development of the circular road would soon be felt by all residents of the state.
