A 38-year-old man, Gary Davis, has been arrested and charged with murder for the alleged shooting death of Marlon Sanders, aged 36.
The murder incident occurred on Tuesday, May 26, at the 12700 block of Blue Timbers Court, Northeast Houston, Texas.
Sanders was the husband of the woman who gave birth to Davis’ baby.
According to the post of Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez, on the X handle, the victim’s wife was once separated from her husband, and got involved in a relationship with Davis.
The relationship, it was further learnt, resulted in her having a baby with Davis.
The wife, who had reconciled with her husband, allowed the baby to visit Davis for a couple of days.
When it was time to pick up the baby, the mother went with her husband, and on seeing him, Davis allegedly rushed out and shot Sanders who was standing by his vehicle on the roadway.
On learning of the incident, Precinct 3 deputies reportedly moved swiftly to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide Detectives from Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Texas, also went to the scene and conducted the scene investigation.
After the arrest and charge of Davis for murder, he was booked in the Harris County Jail.
The Sheriff, Gonzalez, in his post commended everyone involved in the investigation and arrest, including the Violent Criminals Apprehension Team (VCAT), K9, and Air Support, calling it a “great work.”
