Abeokuta, Ogun State — The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard.
The arrests come days after the gruesome attack at Oyesiku’s residence in the Agodo community along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
Police had earlier launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of the 67-year-old retired broadcaster and her security guard.
Preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry into the residence, while Oyesiku’s vehicle was initially reported missing.
According to police authorities, the three suspects were apprehended during ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at tracking down those responsible for the attack. Investigators are continuing efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the killings and establish the level of involvement of each suspect.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, had earlier ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident, assuring residents that the command would spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The deaths of Oyesiku and her security guard have drawn widespread condemnation from media professionals and members of the public, with calls for a thorough investigation and prosecution of those responsible.
Police said investigations remain ongoing and that further details will be made available as the case progresses.
