Mr Ademola Adeniyi, has been appointed as the new General Manager for Pensioners 106.7FM, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The veteran broadcaster’s appointment, effective from July 1, 2026, was approved by the station’s Governing Board.
The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Pensioners 106.7FM as well as State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan.
The radio station, in a statement issued by its management, described Adeniyi as a seasoned broadcast professional with more than 40 years of experience across the public and private broadcasting sectors.
Before his appointment, he served as Director of Programmes at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
He also made history as the pioneer General Manager of Parrot 101.1FM, Ogbomoso, where he was credited with making significant contributions to the growth and development of radio broadcasting.
Adeniyi succeeds Mr Babatunde Tiamiyu, who voluntarily resigned from the position. His resignation became effective on July 1, 2026.
The board expressed confidence in the new General Manager’s leadership abilities, industry experience and professional competence, noting that his appointment would strengthen the station’s vision of delivering quality broadcasting, promoting professionalism and advancing the ideals of Pensioners 106.7FM, popularly known as “The Voice of Liberation.”
Congratulating Adeniyi on his appointment, the management, board, staff and stakeholders of the station wished him a successful and impactful tenure as General Manager.
