The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of child pornography in Onitsha and rescued four children during the operation.
The arrest was made on the evening of September 10, 2026, following open-source intelligence on a trending video allegedly showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement that four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued during the operation, while sex toys and other items believed to be relevant to the investigation were recovered.
The suspect is currently in police custody as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and possible involvement of other persons.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the woman’s husband is also being interrogated to determine whether he had any connection with the alleged crime.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Nnanna Oji Ama, described the alleged act as unacceptable, particularly because of the involvement of children.
He directed a thorough investigation and ordered that the rescued children be provided with appropriate care and protection.
The command said the children’s safety, dignity and wellbeing remained its priority, adding that it would work with relevant child-protection agencies to provide counselling and other support necessary for their recovery.
It also assured that the identities and privacy of the children would be protected throughout the investigation and prosecution process.
The command commended vigilante operatives, bloggers and residents whose information contributed to the investigation and eventual arrest of the suspect.
