More than 300 students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, abducted last week Friday, have been released.
The schoolboys were released on Thursday night, and according to a source, the students were already on their way back to Kankara.
It is not clear if any ransom was paid to secure their release, but earlier in the day, Boko Haram had shown the boys in a video, where they begged the Nigerian government to do everything possible to secure their release.
Both the president, Muhammadu Buhari, and Katsina State government, Aminu Masari, expressed joy over the release of the students.
There is no official statement yet on how the boys were released.
