BOVAS MD to deliver keynote speech at Oyo Youth Summit

Managing Director of BOVAS Group, Dr (Mrs) Victoria Adunola Samson, is set to deliver the keynote speech at the Oyo State Youth Summit 2025 holding between April 29 and 30, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, has said.

Adegoke stated this at a pre-event press conference held at the Briefing Room of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The summit is themed: “Unlocking Youth Potential; Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams,” and was designed by Governor ‘Seyi Makinde to empower and engage youths from across the state on key topics relevant to their development and future, a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, revealed.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports noted that the summit would feature a range of activities, including an awareness walk/sensitisation on drug abuse across the five major zones of Oyo State on Day 1, while the Day 2 of the event would involve plenary sessions, panel discussions and interactive sessions for skill development.

A special dinner and award night to be held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, would round off the summit, where outstanding youths would be conferred with awards, the statement read.

Adegoke said: “The Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the leadership of Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, is pleased to announce the 2025 Oyo Youth Summit.

“This year’s summit, themed: “Unlocking Youth Potential; Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams,” aims to empower and engage youths from across the state on key topics relevant to their development and future.

“The summit, scheduled for April 29 to 30, 2025, will feature a range of activities, including an awareness walk/sensitisation on drug abuse across five major zones in Oyo State on Day 1, 29th April, 2025.

“Day 2, (30th April, 2025) will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, interactive sessions for skill development and later in the evening, a special dinner and award night also, at the International Conference Centre, UI, Ibadan.

“Governor ‘Seyi Makinde will serve as the chief host of the event, which promises to be a landmark gathering of youths from diverse backgrounds, including students, entrepreneurs, artists, community leaders, and others.

“The keynote speaker for the summit is Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson, Managing Director of BOVAS Group, who will share insights on unlocking youth potential.

“A panel of speakers, including Mr. Ibrahim Chatta, Dr. Afeez Oyetoro, Mrs. Adejoke Lasisi, Joshua Oyeniyi and Ayo Adams will discuss key topics and share their experiences.

“The summit aims to achieve several outcomes, including knowledge sharing, networking, and recognition of outstanding youths with special awards.”

She added that ⁠”the target audience for the summit are youths aged 18 to 45 from across Oyo State.

“The Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to empowering and developing the youth of Oyo State. The ministry’s mission is to provide opportunities for youths to grow, develop their skills, and contribute to the state development.”
