A lecturer with the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Dr Aondoana Karl Kwagher, has been found dead in Makurdi, the State capital.
The body of the late lecturer, who until his death was an associate professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering in the university, was found dead late Saturday.
According to a report, the body was found with injury on the head, indicating that he might have been hit with a hard object in the head, after which the assailant went ahead and slit his throat.
Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUAM chapter, Dr Ameh Ejembi, confirmed the report, but said that he did not have details of his death
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, said that police on patrol found the body of the lecturer between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
She said: “We just saw the corpse at Tarka Foundation in a pool of his own blood; it looks like he was stabbed with a knife.”
