SUSPECTED hoodlums on Saturday, December 12, 2020, attacked a petrol station at Moniya area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, and killed the security guard in the process.
The lifeless body of the guard, Isau Yisah (43), was discovered when workers resumed for work in the morning.
The owner of the petrol station, Mr Olatunji Isaac, immediately reported the incident at the Moniya police station, adding that a Plasma TV set worth N40,000 and other valuables were stolen from the station.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, while confirming the incident, said the body of the guard was discovered in a pool of his blood, with a plank beside it.
He added that the plank might have been used on the guard, which led to his death.
Fadeyi said the body of the guard had been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Moniya.
He said Investigation had commenced into the crime, adding that efforts were being intensified to arrest the culprit(s).
