A suspected bandit was neutralised by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (DFI-IRT) during a fierce gun duel with his group in Abuja on Monday, February 5, 2024
The incident, which was confirmed by the Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, occurred at about 10:15am.
The FPRO disclosed that operatives of the DFI-IRT got information that some bandits, led by one Isa Dei-Dei, were in their hideout in the surbub of the FCT, planning a kidnap operation.
The operatives promptly proceded to the location for possible arrest, but on closing in on them, they sighted the police and fled.
“The operatives went after them, which led to a fierce gun duel. In the process, the notorious Isa Dei-Dei was neutralised while other members of the syndicate managed to escape with gunshot injuries.
“We therefore urge members of the public, most especially medical practitioners, to call our attention to anyone or patients seen with gunshot wounds for further investigation,” ACP Adejobi said.
