Kwara State Police Command has described as fake and malicious news the recent alarm and attack of three persons over the report that they were stealing male organs diabolically from individuals, saying that the suspected false accusers have been charged to court.
The police command said that the false alarm was targeted at destroying innocent members of the public.
Thenewsbearer learnt that three of such incidents were recorded in the Okeogun area of Tanke, Ilorin, between Monday, July 17, and today, Thursday, July 20.
The command’s spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement, said that the three males who claimed to have lost their manhoods were
taken to the hospital and tested, with the private organs found to be in perfect condition.
The PPRO disclosed that three accused persons were almost lynched by the mob, save the quick intervention of policemen and people around them.
This, the PPRO stated, led to the court arraignment of the mischievous suspects who raised the false alarm.
According to the SP Ajayi, the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, warned the false accusers to stop such fake private organ theft alarms or risk arrest and prosecution.
She also advised members of the public to be wary of the antics of these fake alarmists and report any such incident to the police.
Reminding the people that jungle justice is punishable by law, the police commissioner enjoined the good people of the state to avoid those raising false alarms.
