The Commissioner of Police in Delta State Command, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered a full-scale investigation into a viral video which showed a man who identified himself as ‘DJ Young’ alleging misconduct by officers attached to Ebrumede Division, Warri Area Command.
The Commissioner of Police, who condemned such an act, said that the Command viewed such an allegation with utmost seriousness, stating: “Any form of abuse or unprofessional conduct by police officers will not be condoned under any circumstances.”
A statement by the Command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, said that the CP had directed an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident.
The police boss also encouraged any individual, group or the victim to contact the command through the Complaint Response Unit’s dedicated numbers: 09155570008 or 09011112311.
He reiterated the Command’s steadfastness in its commitment to justice, transparency, and accountability, assuring the public that no act of misconduct would be tolerated under any guise.
CP Abaniwonda thereby tasked officers and men to uphold the tenets of professional policing in the discharge of their duties, and also conduct themselves according to the law and the established code of conduct of the Force.
