Anambra State Police Command, with the assistance of its Kaduna counterpart, has arrested a suspected kidnapper, John Chinagorom.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the suspect had been on the Command’s wanted list before his arrest.
The arrest followed a credible intelligence received by operatives of the Ozubulu Police Division on Friday, August 1, at noon, that Chinagorom, linked to a kidnap case reported on April 15, was sighted at PZ Park Road, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the arrest, said that a team of police detectives from Ozubulu police station acted swiftly and successfully apprehended the suspect at his hideout in Zaria, with the assistance of officers of the Kaduna Police Command.
“The suspect is currently in custody and is assisting the Police in the ongoing investigation,” the PPRO stated.
Speaking on the general security situation across other parts of the state, Ikenga assured calmness, saying that counter-terrorism and other crime prevention operations continue.
