The Police Mobile Force (PMF) Camp at Nuku Village, via Kaiama, Kwara State, was attacked by armed bandits at about 3:45a.m. on Friday, April 10, killing five members of the National Forest Guard
The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.
The PPRO stated that the bandits also damaged a patrol vehicle belonging to police operatives before the PMF personnel in the camp repelled the attack.
Expressing sympathy to the families of the deceased, the Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi condemned the attack in the strongest terms and assured residents that tactical and intelligence-driven operations had begun the tracking of perpetrators.
CP Adekimi said that the situation is being continuously monitored to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further security breaches.
The Command urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing any useful information that could aid the investigation.
