The Ogun State Police Command has launched a coordinated rescue operation following the abduction of occupants of a private hostel in the Ipara area of the state on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, in a statement on Thursday, July 30, said the Command, working alongside other security agencies, swiftly deployed tactical operatives and intelligence teams to the area immediately after receiving reports of the incident.
According to the police, efforts are ongoing to secure the safe rescue of the abducted victims while also tracking down and arresting those behind the attack.
The Command urged parents, students and residents to remain calm, assuring them that security operatives are fully committed to resolving the situation. It also warned members of the public against spreading unverified information that could jeopardise the ongoing rescue efforts.
