The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared official results from all 30 local government areas in the Osun State governorship election, with Governor Ademola Adeleke of ACCORD securing victories in the majority of the council areas.
According to the results announced by the electoral body, Adeleke won in key local government areas including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, Ife East, Ifelodun, Iwo, Oriade, Odo-Otin and Egbedore, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded victories in councils such as Boripe, Obokun, Ilesa East, Irepodun, Irewole, Olorunda and Atakumosa West.
In Ede North, Adeleke polled 35,427 votes against the APC’s 10,283, while in Ede South he garnered 26,188 votes to defeat the APC, which secured 6,219 votes.
The governor also won Osogbo Local Government with 36,480 votes against the APC’s 30,474 votes.
The APC, however, maintained strong performances in some areas, including Boripe where it polled 19,963 votes against Adeleke’s 12,448, and Obokun where it secured 16,120 votes compared to Adeleke’s 12,023.
Other notable results showed Adeleke winning Boluwaduro by a narrow margin of 7,118 votes to 7,050, while the APC edged out the PDP in Olorunda with 24,672 votes against 23,514.
The declared results reflected a keenly contested election across the state, with both parties recording significant support in different parts of Osun.
INEC is expected to announce the final statewide tally and formally declare the winner upon the completion of collation.
