The Director-General of Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and Lagos, Wale Ajani, has expressed optimism in a more promising dispensation under the Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State’s Omititun 2.0, tagged ‘Sustainable development.’
Ajani also commended the governor on his successful completion of Omititun 1.0 tagged ‘Accelerated Development’ which he said was characterised with remarkable achievements and legacies that would outlive generations to come.
In a congratulatory message to Makinde on Sunday, May 28, 2023, Ajani equally expressed his profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve and learn directly from the governor whom he called the engineer and architect of a modern Oyo State.
Ajani, who was the pioneer national president of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), regarded Makinde as a rare breed politician among today’s crop, stressing that there had not been a genuine feeling of general security, including economy, in the minds of Oyo residents than since 2019.
Describing Makinde as a visionary, selfless, committed, and passionate political leader, Ajani said it was a rare privilege working directly with the governor who gave all his political appointees the opportunity to grow and explore their inner talents.
“The truth remains that Governor Seyi Makinde is a man in his own class as far as today’s Nigerian political landscape is concerned.
“It is often said that how to measure a leader is in the number of greatness that comes out of him, and I can tell you for for a fact that Oyo State, through the governor, has become a template for good governance such that where I, for example, go in my official capacity, the moment they realize I’m from Oyo State, the next thing would be ‘oh! you’re from Makinde,’ and they would ready to give you all the attention needed.
“So, it gives a sense of pride and fulfilment to have worked directly and learn under the governor’s mentorship because wherever you go or whatever you do as an appointee, you’re representing the governor.
“So, I feel very privileged and honoured having the rare opportunity to work and learn directly from his leadership acumen.
“Of course, the successful completion and commissioning of Oyo House in Abuja is one of the governor’s legacies that will remain our pride as a people, especially anytime we visit the FCT, but trust me, that edifice will outlive, not only the governor, but generations to come. It is a beauty to behold.
“On this note, I just want to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for finding me worthy of his trust in the capacity entrusted to me. I want to specially enjoin the good people of the state to continue to support the governor like a fortress as always. Together, we can achieve more greatness together,” Ajani said.
