The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Nnanna Oji Ama, has vowed to ensure that those responsible for the death of Isaac Nwosu, popularly known as Azia, are identified and brought to justice.
The Commissioner gave the assurance on Monday, August 31, 2026, after holding a two-hour closed-door strategic meeting with the command’s operational and strategic officers.
The meeting, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, was part of ongoing efforts to reassess intelligence and information received from members of the public, particularly in Awka, with a view to strengthening security operations and sustaining the fight against violent crime in the state.
Following the meeting, CP Oji Ama visited the family of the late Nwosu to offer his condolences over his death in a recent security incident in Awka.
The Commissioner described Nwosu as an asset to Anambra State, saying his death was a loss not only to his family but also to the state and the Anambra State Police Command.
He particularly acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to the command’s security advocacy efforts and other activities aimed at supporting security operations in the state.
CP Oji Ama directed relevant operational and investigative units of the command to intensify efforts to identify, track down and apprehend those responsible for the incident.
He assured the bereaved family and residents of Anambra State that the command would pursue the investigation with determination and ensure that justice is served.
The Commissioner also appealed to Ndi Anambra to continue to have confidence in the integrity of the police and support ongoing investigative efforts by providing credible information that could assist the command in resolving the case.
He said the command remained committed to protecting lives and property and would continue to strengthen its operations against criminal elements across the state.
