A 26-year-old man, Anthony Cephas, has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for stealing a solar-powered streetlight along the Sagamu Interchange Expressway in Ogun State.
Cephas was arrested by detectives of the Sagamu Divisional Police Headquarters on October 30, 2026, at about 9pm in the Mayegun area of Sagamu.
The police recovered the stolen solar-powered streetlight and its solar panel from the suspect during the arrest.
Following a diligent investigation, Cephas was arraigned before a court on November 2, 2026, where he was found guilty and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
The conviction followed the swift intervention of the Ogun State Police Command in bringing the suspect to justice over the theft of public infrastructure.
