Operatives in Owode Egba Division of Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspects, Agbo Jeremiah and Sunday Ngbuta, for conspiracy and vandalising the installation wires and iron rods belonging to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) at Ogunmakin area.
Confirming the arrest in a statement, the command’s image maker, CSP Omolola Odutola, said that an alert was received on January 20, 2025, at about 7p.m. by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Owode Egba Police Station.
The PPRO said: “Operatives from the Safer Highway reported that on the same day, while at the Macpherson University area, they encountered two men carrying rolls of cable wires and iron rods.
“The men asked for assistance in carrying their load, arousing suspicion that the items might have be stolen.
“On arrival at the overhead bridge in Ogunmakin, the driver signalled the police officers on duty and informed about his suspicions, and the police flagged down the vehicle.
“After careful search on the vehicle, the two suspects, identified as Agbo Jeremiah, 34 years old; and Sunday Ngbuta, 29 years old; were subsequently arrested.
“Photographs of the stolen item were taken, and the suspects could not ascertain the possession of the item or satisfy questions put to them.”
Thenewsbearer gathered that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation.
