Two sons of Dr Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, who participated in the assault of a young lady which was captured on video, have been apprehended by the Nasarawa State Police Command.
The sons’ names were given as Bob Praise Ayokhai, aged 23 and third year student of the Department of Microbiology, Federal University of Lafia, and Saint-Dan Ayokhai, 21 years old.
The lecturer, who was earlier arrested with his daughter, Emmanuela, is an Associate Professor with the Department of History and International Studies, Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA).
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Rahman Nansel, who disclosed this on Twitter, said that both males were arrested for being parties to the commission of the dastardly act.
The viral video had shown the assaulted girl, identified as Blessing Mathias, stripped half naked as she was forced to remove her trousers while being beaten by the lecturer and his sons inside a residence.
The beating continued outside as she was whipped by the father, sons and daughter, Emmanuela.
The video also showed another shot in which she was taken to the bush in the lecturer’s Ford SUV and further assaulted.
After asking the victim to apologize to his daughter, the lecturer was seen in the video using a pair of scissors to cut the lady’s sleeveless blouse above her breasts, with her chest nudity almost displayed before the video was abruptly cut off.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the victim had initially had a face-off with the lecturer’s daughter for being in possession of her boyfriend’s mobile phone number.
Blessing was also seen in a viral video slapping Emmanuela and asking her to delete her lover’s number from her phone.
Emmanuela reportedly narrated her experience with Blessing to her family members, prompting the action taken against her by all of them.
“The Command wishes to assure members of the public that no stone will be left unturned in the course the investigation, as the outcome will be made public,” the PPRO said.
