THE Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has finally called off its nine-month old strike after agreeing on major issues with the Federal Government.
ASUU’s decision came after an eight-hour meeting with the FG delegation on Wednesday morning.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, hosted the meeting in Abuja.
ASUU president, Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, after the meeting, said the government had given them a new offer.
He said the strike would be called off by 12 noon today (Wednesday).
The union had been on strike since March over the IPPIS issue.
