In a move to support and enhance the performance of the police in the security of lives and property, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Iraboh, has donated five operational Hilux patrol vehicles to Delta State Police Command.
This was disclosed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, in a statement on Wednesday, August 24.
The vehicles, which were received by the police command on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 was donated in the spirit of inter-agency cooperation, according to the CDS who was represented by the 63 Brigade Commander, General Mayeranso David Saraso.
In addition, General Irabor said that the gesture was to support and enhance the performance of the police in the security of lives and property across the state, as there is need to assist other security agencies with the required tools to help in security.
Receiving the patrol vehicles, the state Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali, described the gesture exhibited by the CDS as one of a kind, uncommon and unbelievable, which would in no small way boost the morale of police personnel in the state.
The police commissioner, who was with members of the Command’s management team, said it was a day of happiness for the Command, assuring the CDS that the vehicles would be put into good use and would definitely enhance the fight against crime and criminality in across state.
