The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Olusola Alao has extended warm felicitation to Muslims in the ancient town and across Nigeria on the Eid-el-Kabir festivities being celebrated globally, with a charge to them to emulate Prophet Ibrahim in faith and willingness to sacrifice to please God,
The Olugbon, in a press statement issued on Wednesday, May 27, highlighted the need to thank Allah for preservation of lives and the privilege to participate in another Sallah.
Pointing out that the festival symbolises faith and sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim, he noted that it also shows God’s faithfulness and mercy at critical times.
The monarch assured that God never fails to reward faith and sacrifice.
Oba Alao called on Muslims to be security conscious during and after the celebration, stressing that by collective efforts, Nigeria will triumph over the evil of insecurity.
He used the occasion to commend security agencies which are working tirelessly to rescue pupils and teachers abducted in Ahoro Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area, urging them not to relent in the efforts to secure the release of the victims.
While commiserating with the families of the Assistant Headteacher, motorcyclist and teacher murdered by the kidnappers, Oba Alao advised residents to cooperate with security agencies and report suspected persons and movements around them to aid safety of all.
