•As CP rejoices with Muslim faithful
Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of the state, especially muslim faithful, of adequate security during the Eid-El Fitri festival which comes up on Thursday May 13, 2021.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, confirmed the preparedness of the command to provide adequate security during the Eid-El Fitri celebration which comes up on Thursday, May 13, after addressing the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Police Mobile Force Commanders and Tactical Commanders on Monday, May 10, at the POWA Hall, Oduduwa, Ikeja.
According to a statement signed by the state police spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday, Odumosu spoke on the command’s anti-crime strategies put in place for the festivity.
The police boss further stated that an appreciable number of police personnel had been deployed across the state for provision of adequate security, traffic management and enforcement of COVID-19 protocols, as stipulated by the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.
“The Commissioner of Police also directed that the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and the Command’s Monitoring Unit should intensify efforts to maintain robust intelligence gathering and proactive measures to police the state during the Eid-el-Fitri festival and beyond.
“The police boss advised Muslim faithful and fun seekers to be moderate and security conscious during this festivity.
“The Command however warned miscreants and hoodlums to seize the opportunity of this festive period to turn over a new leaf and stop being a thorn in the flesh of innocent Lagos residents, as adequate security has been emplaced to tackle all forms of criminality in Lagos State during this festivity and beyond,” the PPRO said in his statement.
Felicitating with Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the fasting, Odumosu prayed that God would accept their prayers and spare their lives to witness more of the holy month in good health.
