The Archbishop-Elect of Ibadan Province and The Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, The Most Rev’d. (Dr ) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, has attributed all his achievements to the grace God has showered on him in His vineyard.
The statement was contained in the press release signed by the Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade after the Eucharistic and Thanksgiving service to mark his 10th consecration anniversary at the Cathedral of St Peter’s, Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking on the occasion, the Archbishop-elect said: “I am happy that God counted me worthy to be elevated to where I am today as a worker in God’s vineyard.
“From my humble background, God has been merciful to me and has graciously lifted me up from priesthood to become Archdeacon, Dean, Bishop and presently the Archbishop-Elect of Ibadan Province. All I need to offer God is thanksgiving sacrifice always.”
Archbishop-Elect Aladekugbe used the occasion to appreciate those who had contributed to his success story, including the former Archbishop and Cosmopolitan of The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev’d Nicholas Okoh; the current Archbishop and Cosmopolitan, The Most Rev’d (Dr) Henry C. Ndukuba; Bishops; Clergy; Laity; as well as his wife who is also the President, Women Organization in Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Engineer Catherine Oluwafunmilayo Aladekugbe.
Earlier in his sermon during the service, Venerable(Dr)Jacob Olusegun Adeloye asked the celebrant to always give thanks for God’s faithfulness in his life.
Quoting from the book of Psalms 146:1-6, the preacher read: “Praise ye the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul. While I live, will I sing praises unto my God; while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.”
