A man, Olaoluwa Jimoh, who allegedly committed sacrilege by having sexual relationship with his biological daughter (name withheld) and subsequently impregnating her, has been arrested by detectives in Ogun State Police Command.
The randy father, aged 45, was arrested on Thursday, September 16, 2021, after the daughter reported at Ode Remo Divisional Headquarters.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement on Monday, September 20, that the daughter told the police that her father, whom she had been living with for two years, forcefully had sex with her in June this year.
She stated further that since then, she has been raped severally by her father who always threatened to kill her if she dared inform anyone.
The 19-year-old victim also informed the police that her mother got separated from the father long time ago, and that she had been living with her mother until about two years ago when her father asked her to come and be living with him.
She said that she decided to report, not minding the threat of her father, when she discovered that she was pregnant.
“Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Ode Remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi, quickly detailed his detectives to go after the suspect and he was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed that he was used by the devil,” the PPRO disclosed.
Oyeyemi said that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
