The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has admonished Nigerians against the continual negative portrayal of security agencies, particularly to young ones in their formative ages.
He warned that this could generate hatred and antagonism against lawful institutions in their minds as they grow up.
The FPRO who spoke on this on Sunday, January 22, 2023, particularly referred to a video recording which trended recently in which a man constantly rebuffed his daughter’s career choice to be a police officer.
Emphasizing that policing is a noble profession, CSP Adejobi said that the fact that some individuals carry out nefarious intentions and activities in their professional duty should not discourage people but rather gear them up in serving diligently and honourably.
The Force PRO acknowledged that generally, security operatives are like guardian angels who continually show interest and put in their best to defend the country and protect lives and property, as enshrined in the extant laws of the land.
He urged members of the public to do everything possible to encourage others, not to castigate them.
The Force PRO reiterated the commitment of the current administration of the Force, under the leadership of IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to rid the system of recalcitrant officers, urging all stakeholders in security management, particularly members of the public, to support the police in its quest to improve on policing services in the country.
