As Nigerians celebrate Democracy Day on Saturday, June 12, 2021, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State Command, Olawale Olokode said that the command has put in place adequate security measures across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free period of marking the day..

The Commissioner of Police, who disclosed his command’s pro-active move through the police spokeswoman in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, on Friday, June 11, restated the readiness of the state command and other sister security agents to guarantee safety of lives and property in all parts of the state during the celebration and beyond.

Olokode also assured the people of adequate visibility policing and constant vehicular patrols, just as he appealed to them to cooperate and collaborate with the security personnel detailed for the special assignment, and other vehicles on patrol duties put in place to curb any act of crime and criminality.

He also enjoined them to conduct and comport themselves within the ambit of the law and jettison all forms of rumours of insecurity being peddled, as the police, in synergy with other security agents, was ready to deal decisively with any act of criminality that might arise.

The PPRO added that the police commissioner advised parents and guardians to warn their wards against any unnecessary protest and procession in the state that could cause breakdown of law and order, as the Command would not tolerate any act of lawlessness.

Further in his admonition, Olokode enjoined the residents to be vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or infraction of the law to the police for immediate action through phone numbers 08039537995 and 08123823981.
