Lagos State Police Command has said that it has arrested two suspects in connection with the disappearance of a 22-year-old lady, Ms Ayanwole Oluwabamise, who boarded a BRT bus in Lagos from Chevron bus stop, Lekki, heading towards Oshodi on Saturday, February 25, 2022.
The command also assured the family that it would get to the roots of the disappearance.
Oluwabamise reportedly boarded the bus at about 7pm and had not been seen till date.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said in a statement on Saturday, March 5 that investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the lady was immediately initiated when the report got to the police.
“To ensure a speedy and diligent investigation, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, immediately directed the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, to take over the case.
“In the course of ongoing investigation, two suspects have been arrested and are currently helping in our work.
“While assuring that police detectives will continue to work assiduously to find the missing lady and bring her abductors to justice, the Command wishes to appeal to anyone with useful information that could help in our investigation to promptly give it to us for further necessary actions,” the PPRO stated.
Oluwabamise is said to hail from Moba Local Government Area in Ekiti State, a little above five feet, dark in complexion and speaks Yoruba and English languages well.
Ajisebutu added that the isolated incident notwithstanding, the Police Command is committed to protecting lives and property of all residents of the state at all times.
