The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Segun Ogunwuyi, has resigned from his position.
Ogunwuyi announced his resignation in a letter dated October 12, 2026, stating that it took effect immediately.
In the letter, he expressed gratitude to Makinde for the opportunity to serve the state, describing his time in government as an honour.
“Serving the Government and the good people of Oyo State has been a great honour. It has been deeply fulfilling to be part of the exceptional team that has worked relentlessly to deliver the remarkable achievements of this administration,” he said.
The former Chief of Staff added that he was proud of the administration’s achievements in promoting the growth, development and prosperity of Oyo State.
He also expressed confidence in the state’s continued progress, while reaffirming his loyalty to the governor, Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ogunwuyi, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, is among several aides to Makinde who have resigned from the state government in the past two months.
However, the resignation letter did not state the reason for his decision.
