A 42-year-old man, John Daniel, was arrested on Sunday May 30, 2021, by detectives in Ogun State Police Command for allegedly forcing a lady into sexual contact while pretending to source a shop for her to rent.
Thenewsbearer gathered that the 30-year-old lady (names withheld) had seen Daniel at about 6pm on Sunday while in search of a shop to rent for her business.
According to the state police image-maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who gave an insight to the incident on Monday, May 31, Daniel had responded that he had a container kept in his care by someone, telling her that she could use it as a shop.
Happy that she was about getting what she needed, the victim, as told, followed the suspect to where he said the container was.
Asked to have a seat in his living room while he would call the owner of the container to discuss with her, the PPRO said that the suspect turned towards the door.

Oyeyemi stated, he suddenly locked the door, brought out a screwdriver and a bottle, with a threat that she should undress.
Recounting her experience to the police at Sango Ota Division, the victim said that she was forcefully raped by Daniel after he had beaten her into submission.
On getting the report, the PPRO said that the Divisional Police Officer at Sango Ota, CSP Godwin Idehai detailed his detectives to the scene, and the suspect was promptly arrested.
Recovered from him were the bottle and screwdriver which he was said to have threatened his victim with, while the lady was taken to hospital by the police for medical treatment.
Saying that the suspect had confessed to the commission of the crime, Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, had directed the transfer of the suspect to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
