Homicide detectives in Texas, United States of America, have charged a 43-year-old man, Jose Arquimides Romero, for allegedly shooting his wife, Yanira Nafin, to death because he was upset that she did not count as serious the back pain he was having.
The incident was posted on X handle of HCSOTexas by Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez.
HCSO is the largest sheriff’s office in Texas.
Yanira, aged 39, was allegedly shot by her common-law husband, Romero, in their residence.
HCSOTexas deputies had responded to a shooting in the evening of May 2, at the couple’s residence located at the 14200 block of Texarkana.
The couple’s three children, who were in the home at the time of the incident, managed to hide when shots rang out and were unharmed.
On arrival at the scene, they found Yanira dead with a gunshot wound.
Romero had remained at the residence and was taken into custody by the deputies.
The shooting was confirmed as being linked to domestic violence.
Romero had been booked in the Harris County Jail.
