The Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has expanded its campaign committees with additional members and created new structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Director-General of the council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 28, announcing that the expanded committees would be inaugurated at the Local Government Hall, Secretariat, on Friday at 3 p.m.
Adeniran said the restructuring was aimed at strengthening coordination, broadening participation and improving grassroots mobilisation across the state.
As part of the changes, the council established a Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee and divided the existing Mobilisation Committee into specialised units focusing on youth and women, workers and pensioners, religious groups, volunteers, ethnic groups, traders and artisans.
Other committees affected by the expansion include Media and Publicity, Logistics and Transportation, Reconciliation and Contacts, Protocol and Accommodation, Venue and Stage, Welfare and Medical, and Security and Traffic.
Hon. Olufemi Josiah was named chairman of the newly established Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee, alongside Hon. Oladele Dauda Tokunbo, Hon. Folawiyo Monshood and Surv. (Chief) Olaide Tijani as members.
The expanded Mobilisation Committee also features designated coordinators and members across its various units to facilitate engagement with different groups and coordinate campaign activities.
Adeniran expressed confidence that the additions and restructuring would enhance the council’s capacity to engage communities, promote voter education and coordinate its activities ahead of the elections.
He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to building a campaign structure that would facilitate stakeholder engagement and reach communities across Oyo State.
