The Oyo State Police Command has arrested an Indian national and two security operatives of Karma Agric Feeds and Foods Limited over the alleged assault of two truck drivers in Ibadan.
The arrests followed the circulation of a viral video showing the alleged assault at the company, located at Kilometer 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibadan.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the command became aware of the video at about 8:30 a.m. on October 13, 2026, prompting the Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, to order an investigation and the arrest of those involved.
Preliminary findings indicated that the incident started with a disagreement over the parking of a truck that delivered goods to the company on Saturday. The truck owner, Akinpelu Sarafa, 47, reportedly said the driver objected to a designated parking spot over fears that it could damage the truck’s tyres but was allegedly compelled to park there.
One of the tyres subsequently burst, leading to another disagreement after the driver reportedly requested a replacement tyre, which the company allegedly declined to provide. The driver was said to have blocked the company’s entrance with his truck in protest, triggering a physical confrontation involving the drivers, security operatives and an Indian national.
The two victims were identified as Ridwan Olajide, 34, and Taiwo Yinusa, 37. Both were taken to a hospital in the Academy area of Ibadan for medical attention, where the investigating police officer visited them and obtained their statements.
The suspects arrested were Olowu Oluwadamilare and Sodeke Olamide, both security operatives attached to the company, and Harjit Singh, 46, an Indian national associated with the company.
Ayanlade said the case had been transferred to the Special Enquiry Bureau, Eleyele, Ibadan, for further investigation to establish the roles of the suspects and determine the culpability of all parties involved.
The command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that the law applies equally to individuals and organisations. It urged members of the public to remain calm while investigations continue, adding that anyone found culpable would face the law.
