Abeokuta — Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have killed two suspected kidnappers and recovered ₦2.2 million believed to be ransom proceeds during a follow-up operation linked to a recent abduction case in the state.
The command disclosed that the operation was carried out by its Anti-Kidnapping Unit as part of efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across Ogun State.
According to police authorities, the victim had been abducted on June 11 in Ogbe Village, prompting the deployment of intelligence and tactical resources to secure the victim’s release and track down those responsible.

Acting on credible intelligence, operatives traced the suspects to a hideout within the state.

A search of the scene led to the recovery of a single-barrel gun, an expended cartridge, a mobile phone, and ₦2.2 million in cash suspected to be proceeds from criminal activities.
The Ogun State Police Command said investigations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and uncover the full extent of the gang’s operations.
