Two suspected armed robbers, who were almost lynched by an angry mob, have been rescued the police attached to Sagamu Road Division in Lagos State Police Command.
They were identified as Gbolahan Adebowale (18) and Quadri Giwa Ajina (21).
The state police spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement that the suspects were overpowered at Sabo area of Ikorodu on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at about 1.30p.m., before they were rescued by the police.
Adejobi also disclosed that a Beretta pistol was recovered from them.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered that Adebowale and Ajina should be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.
Saying that the command would not allow criminals to make the state unsafe, the police commissioner assured that every nook and cranny of the state would be adequately policed.
