Activities have been lined up for the official coronation of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, between December 14 and 19, 2023.
The development followed the approval of motion of stay of execution by the Oyo State High Court against the nullification of the selection process which enthroned Oba Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomoso.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 28, the chairman of the coronation’s Central Planning Committee, Professor Adesola Adepoju, said that the coronation ceremony date published by some news outlets was incorrect, maintaining that the correct one remains December 14 to 19.
He appreciated media partners for their support, while he urged them to always seek proper clarifications from the appropriate authority before going to press.
He added that the breakdown of the main event would be made public at the World Press Cenfrence coming up soon.
