The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Oladipupo Moruf, for allegedly stealing a black Lexus 330 SUV in Anambra State before its recovery in the state of the livinspring.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the state Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe, through the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun, SP Yemisi Opalola said on Wednesday that the vehicle was stolen from one Igwe Odinaka at Obosi in Idenmiri South Local Government Area, while the suspect was arrested with it in Ilesa.
The police boss disclosed that the owner of the vehicle was shot in the stomach when his car was forcefully taken from him.
He said the suspect was apprehended upon credible intelligence received that the vehicle was seen along Ijebu-Jesa road.
The policemen attached to ‘A’ Division, Ilesa, reportedly intercepted the vehicle driven by Oladipupo while they were on patrol.
“The suspect was arrested and the vehicle recovered to the station for further investigation.
“The suspect will be charged to court immediately the investigation is completed,” CP Longe said.
