Hoodlums have continued attacking law enforcement agents and their stations, as two policemen were burnt to death at Iwo Road area in Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday.

Also torched were police stations at Akobo, Alakia-Adelubi and Monatan areas in Ibadan, and the one in Iseyin.

A police van belonging to Egbeda police station and other vehicles were also set ablaze.

According to information gathered by Thenewsbearer, the hoodlums had stopped three policemen in their official vehicle and accused them of being brutal to a commercial motorcycle rider at Gbagi, on their way to Iwo Road.

The miscreants, who claimed to be EndSARS protesters, reportedly descended on the policemen, setting two of them on fire, while the third escaped.
It took the intervention of Operation Burst operatives to restore normalcy in the area.

The state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde had reportedly visited the scene.

In a similar vein, Iseyin police station and some houses went up in flame instituted by hoodlums on Thursday.

There was also looting as the hoodlums descended on shops and carted away goods and belongings.

The hoodlums also invaded the bases of the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

A resident, who craved anonymity, confirmed the invasion, saying: “our fear now is that they will now be attacking individuals in their homes.

“They went with weapons from offices of the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Immigration Service.”

It will be recalled that the protests tagged peaceful started about two weeks ago to put an end to what was perceived as police brutality.

But in the past few days, things had taken a dangerous turn as some of the protesters had engaged in arson, looting and killing policemen whose acts were being condemned.
